Do you have a sleep routine?

There’s a lot of chat about morning routines.  Everyone wants to know the morning routines of those they are inspired by or admire.  I guess it’s like a window into their success, or maybe a chance to at least learn the secrets to their success.

My belief is that a good sleep routine is equally as important as a good morning routine.  It will go a long way in helping set you up for the next day.

Here’s a simple stretch routine that I do as a pre-bedtime ritual!  It will calm and relax and de-stress both body & mind

No fancy equipment needed (you can replace the foam roller for a rolled up towel or pillow!)

Thoracic extension.  Lie in this pose for a minimum of 10 breaths until you feel your back relax

Childs Pose. Do this following the extension to recalibrate the spine and focus on diaphragmatic breathing for 1 minute.

Breath work.  Lie on your back on a hard surface (the floor is perfect) Place your hands on your heart

and take 10 – 15 breaths with emphasis on the inhale through the nose and a slow exhale through the mouth.  Continue until you feel your heart rate slow down.

This will help you shake off your day and unwind so you’ll fall asleep faster and sleep more soundly.  Who doesn’t want that right?

It’s the simple rituals that can make all the difference.
